Charles Jencks said that when Postmodernism became so well established in the 80's it became corporate and just as bad as modernism. Do you agree that it kind of becomes a fashion rather than someones passion?
Also Claire McNicoll was saying that when she originally made the bowl piece that was shown a lot of people called it a decorative piece rather than art and this seemed to offend her. Is it is thin line between art and a piece of decor or does it all fall under the same title? Can all decor be classed as decor and vice versa?
the link for that video didn't work for me but i came across an equally as good video which i will post. I think that post modern has become a fashion, but it seems to be a fashion no one has any idea what it is about or what it stands for but helplessly follow along like sheep.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Initially when postmodern art came about it was so different and that is why everyone hates it. But now it has become a trend in many instances. Aslong as one person knows what they are doing, everyone else will happily follow in their style.
