Black Mirror

Charlie Brooker made a fantastic 3 episode series called Black Mirror which looked at the dark side of the modern world and how how things like youtube, twitter, and mass media can be "destroying" the modern world.

They are worth watching if you haven't seen them before unfortunatly they have been taken off 4OD.

The first Episode is called "The National Anthem" shows how websites like Youtube and twitter can used as "free media" where anything can posted up there. without constraint.

 This is the trailer:

The second episode is called "15 Million Credits" shows how Reality Television and advertising is getting out of hand.

This is the trailer:

The Third episode called "The Entire History Of You" shows how media and product integration, Things like Sky + may not be a good idea.

All these are a good example of postmodernism and applying them to modern day issues.

  1. *SPOILER ALERT*

I watched all three of these when they were aired, and i've got to say Charlie Brooker is clever as. The first one was halerious at first, but when it dawned on me that the prime minister has to f*** a pig, it lost all humility and actually made me feel really sick. I really enjoyed the last one, it made you realise that if humans were given the power to rewind their memories it would drive everyone insane.

  2. I watched them also. It is was a really well written and directed piece. The one on social media was my favourite. It does give a decent incite into what is happening due to the phenomenon what is social media.
